Our September speaker is Anthony Piagentini who is running to represent the residents of Louisville Metro District 19 at the Louisville Metro Council. He is running to ensure our city remains a safe place to live and that our local government meets the needs of our growing community.
A businessman in the private sector, Anthony has worked for over 5 years in Louisville’s flourishing healthcare industry. He has also demonstrated a commitment to public service. Anthony served honorably for eight years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve as an artillery forward observer from 2003-2011, including a tour in Ramadi, Iraq, in 2006-2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He felt called to enlist in the Corps after 9/11 reflecting his duty to serve his country when it was under attack.
Anthony is an active member of the St. Bernadette Catholic Community. He volunteer’s regularly at the church as a Cantor and as the head of the Lenten Fish Fry committee. He was raised in a middle-class household. His mother was a career public school teacher and his father was a commercial truck tire salesman. They taught him the values of personal responsibility, hard work and service.
Anthony earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from Washington and Lee University. He also studied Mandarin Chinese at Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan and has his M.B.A. in Global Management from the University of Phoenix.
Anthony has been married 13 short years now to his wife, Nejma Danielle Piagentini. She is an Environmental Scientist. Her undergraduate degree is from Spelman College and her Masters Degree is from the University of South Florida. She is currently a member of the St. Bernadette Catholic Church Parish Council, is an usher at church, and is a member of Jack and Jill.
Anthony’s twin daughters are Giavanna (Gia) and Cecilia (Cece) Piagentini. They are currently 8 years old and will be starting the 4th grade at Saint Mary Academy in the fall. They both just finished a season with the Kentucky Fire Juniors soccer club. Cece is learning piano and has played at multiple recitals. Gia is studying ballet at the Louisville Ballet School and performed in the Brown-Forman Nutcracker last year as an Angel.
